Friday Newsletter: February 9, 2018

I hope everyone had a great week!

Today I had the privilege of interviewing eight of our fourth graders (two from each classroom). It was a pleasure learning about their TBD experiences, and getting their thoughts on the school’s future!

Morning Drop Off Procedures

Starting Monday, February 12, students may enter the building through both of the school’s front doors. Students arriving after 8:30 should use the door adjacent to the main office (the same door that has always been used). As always, please remember to pull your vehicle “all the way up.”

The Magic Wand Project

Our first graders have been working on doing acts of kindness in school, at home, and in the community. We are excited to have the students here at TBD share acts of kindness with us through The Magic Wand Project. The first grade students will create their own magic wands that will be hidden throughout the school early next week. Students that find the wands have to perform an act of kindness at school. Their picture will be taken holding the magic wand that was found. Watch out for our acts of kindness on social media: InstagramTwitterFacebook. Click on “The Magic Wand Project” link above for more information.

Souper Bowl

A HUGE THANK YOU from the third grade team for all of the canned goods families provided in celebration of the Souper Bowl! The cans went to the Center for Food Action in Englewood. About 100-150 cans were dropped off by Mrs. Wortmann last weekend. TBD families are SOUPER givers!

Author Visit

Thanks to the OTPTO Author/Illustrator Jarrett Krosoczka will be visiting TBD on Tuesday, March 20. Families are invited to order his books (using this order form), which will be signed on the day of his visit. Orders are due no later than FEBRUARY 16TH. Questions? Contact Mrs. Straubinger at straubinger@nvnet.org.

Character Ed. Team

iCONNECT at TBD – iCONNECT by sharing my words at the right time. Check out the story here – My Mouth is a Volcano – then discuss the strategy of breathing your words out and then breathing them back in again when the time is right to share the words. Connect Team Character!
